Due to the outstanding participation of many of the members of Philippi in the public and academic activity, and the social vocation inspiring it, the Firm has identified itself with the interest of Chile and with different works of common good. So, the intense professional activity is complemented, as it has been a tradition of the Firm since its foundation, by academic activities and in benefit of nonprofit entities.
Academic Activities: As a manner of complementing and enriching professional work, Philippi promotes that lawyers develop academic activities in the different areas related to their professional work. Several lawyers of the Firm are professors of the most prestigious Chilean universities and actively participate in lectures and international seminars.
Philippi Award: Likewise, our Firm is interested in that prominent Law students be recognized for their academic excellence. Philippi maintains a close contact with Law Schools, in particular to Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica, with which it has agreed on the granting of awards to the best students of Civil and Commercial Law, respectively.
Pro Bono: Philippi lawyers have undertaken to work 20 hour per year each, providing free legal consultancy to nonprofit institutions engaged in education, housing, health, abject poverty, culture and heritage rescue, entrepreneurship and environment.
In 2010, Fundación Pro Bono recognized Philippi in the Category “Law Firms” for its outstanding practice of free legal volunteering and its work of quality.
